ABOUT ME

Hi! My name is Diane Wyland and I have been a licensed health insurance agent since 2016. At that time I was a “captive” agent…that means I worked for a call center and could only educate and enroll a consumer into the plan I was contracted with. For four years I took calls and time after time members asked if they could reach out to me personally to continue to help them but, unfortunately, that was not allowed. I want to help people, I want to be there for my clients, and now that I am an Independent Insurance Broker I am able to do just that. I am contracted with many insurance carriers and plans and have the ability to help my clients even more. What this means for you is that when we determine what you are looking for in an insurance plan then we will find the one that is right for YOU.
You’ll find that I am quite transparent and genuine. My parents were both Army and I was raised that trust is the number one value. I am also committed and passionate in what I do. I am now an Independent Broker for Medicare plans, Marketplace (ACA or Obamacare) plans, as well as Ancillary plans like Dental, Vision, Indemnity, Accident, Critical Illness/Cancer, Long Term Planning and Life Insurance/Final Expense.
I am proud to say that I am now affiliated with Senior Solutions Insurance Agency (https://seniorsolutionsinsuranceagency.com/) as one of their agents. They are a multi-generational family owned agency on the Treasure Coast. John and Matthew Clark treat their agents and clients as if they're family and I am happy to be a part of their Agency.
And, thank you in advance for trusting me with your insurance needs. I greatly appreciate it!
Medicare Annual Enrollment Period
October 15 - December 7
This is a timeframe open to everyone who has Medicare
We can begin talking about next year's plans on October 1st.
We can begin enrolling into those plans on October 15th but they will not be effective until January 1st.
Medicare Tips & Info

Medicare Part D
(that's the Prescription portion of Medicare)
Due to the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) Medicare is removing the Part D subsidies. This directly affects the insurance company not the member. However it may indirectly affect the member regarding premiums and/or changes to the cost sharing structure. Therefore, please do not be complacent.
REVIEW YOUR PART D COVERAGE on Medicare.gov

Veterans Benefits & Medicare Part B
Currently Veterans Benefits are not viewed by Medicare as "Creditable Coverage". Therefore, if you receive VA Benefits and you opt out of Medicare Part B (which is your right), if and when you decide later to get Medicare Part B you will be assessed a Part B Penalty which is 10% per 12 month period you were without. In my humble opinion, go ahead and get your Part B now even though you receive your VA Benefits. You never know when you may want or need to use civilian services (and I'm not meaning in an emergency).

Medicare Beneficiary and have Employer Coverage?
Make sure you receive a letter from your employer stating whether or not your prescription coverage is "Creditable Coverage" or not. They are REQUIRED to give you this letter EVERY YEAR.
_____
Also, if you are have Medicare Part A and/or B then you and your employer can no longer make contributions to an HSA plan, otherwise you can be penalized. You may still use the HSA plan, but no contributions can be made.

Medicare Beneficiaries with Partial Medicaid and Extra Help
If you are SLMB or QI - make sure you are in a Dual plan that says it is for Cost-Sharing. This means, make sure that it does not have a copay associated with most of the medical benefits.
Please, talk with a local broker during the Annual Enrollment Period to make sure you are in the right plan for 2025.
If you are QMB, SLMB, or QI you can no longer change plans quarterly. If you want to change plans you need to use a different Special Election Period.

Scope of Appointment, Information, and Schedule an Appointment
Medicare requires Agents to have a Scope of Appointment (SOA). This document does not obligate you to enroll into a plan nor to do business with the agent/broker. It simply states what type of plan you want to discuss.

Turning 65 in January or February?
Then your Initial Election Period coincides with the Annual Enrollment Period but you are not bound by the AEP dates. It's actually better to speak with your agent outside of the AEP dates (before October 15 or after Dec 8) depending upon your birth month, of course.
-------------------------
Did you know that if your birthday is on the 1st of the month that your Medicare will be effective the month prior to your birth month? (Assuming you are getting Medicare due to turning 65)
HEALTH INSURANCE
With so many options out there, why choose me to be your Licensed Health Insurance Agent?
Health insurance in general can be confusing and with all the commercials, mailings and even phone calls who can you turn to? You need someone who has your best interest in mind and that person is me!
I understand the plans and how important it is to have your providers in network and prescription covered at an affordable cost. I enjoy spending time with my clients and listening to their needs. Frankly, that is the only way to know what plan is the right fit.
I offer no-cost, no-obligation consultations in person, by phone, or even virtual. I hope you will allow me the opportunity to help you navigate the maze that is Medicare. It’s really not so scary when you have the right agent.

ANCILLARY
Dental & Vision – Let me give you a reason to smile! I have a variety of Dental plans to offer, some even include Vision, though I have that separately as well. With so many plans to choose from, let me help you find the right one that fits your needs!
Accident, Sickness, Hospital – Are you scared of the high deductible on your health insurance plan? Will one trip to the ER or hospital do you in? Then contact me and let me help you find a plan that can cover that deductible if you do have an Accident, Sickness, or Hospital Stay. Life is full of the unexpected…so let’s be prepared.
Cancer & Critical Illness – These plans give a lump sum directly to you. No one wants to deal with these situations, but if it does happen then the monies you receive can help ease the burden of medical bills and/or household expenses, etc.
Indemnity – Get paid when something unexpected happens. Broken arm? Twisted ankle? Why not have a plan in place that will pay you when you go to the ER or get an x-ray? Call me, let’s talk.
LIFE INSURANCE
Life happens, whether it’s expected or not, and as the saying goes, the only two things you must do are pay taxes and die. I can’t help you with your taxes (that would be my son the CPA) but I can help you with selecting the right Life Insurance policy to help and protect your family that you’ll leave behind.
Whether it’s a lot or a little, you can be assured that your family will have something to get them through the hard times they are facing without you by their side.
